Eva M. Kehrer

Eva M. Kehrer, age 91, of Marengo, passed away Thursday morning, May 16, 2019, at Bennington Glen in Marengo.
On March 31, 1928, Eva was born in Wayne County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James Collins and the late Nora Lee Spaulding. She graduated from Wayne High School in WV and then furthered her education at Marshall University.
A woman of faith, Eva attended New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. She loved spreading the word of God.
Throughout the years, Eva worked as an elementary school teacher, a hairdresser, and then as an inspector at Simmons Mattress Company from where she retired in 1990.
In her spare time, Eva loved tending to her rose garden and traveling. She also liked going to yard sales and flea markets. She was a very giving person and always there for anyone who needed her. She never hesitated to give someone a ride and always tried to feed you. She loved being with her family, and especially adored her grandchildren.
Eva will be dearly missed by her two children: Larry Spaulding of Marengo, Linda Osborne of Mount Gilead; six grandchildren: Denise Garrison of Mount Gilead, Robert Osborne Jr. of Mount Gilead, Debra Osborne of Westerville, Marsha Miller of Cardington, Marla Moore of Cardington, Jean Moore of Mansfield; and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Aretha Marcum, Katie Workman; and four brothers: Millard Collins, Ira Copley, James Marcum, and Kester Collins.
Eva’s family will greet friends from 12Noon – 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services to honor and celebrate her life will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Celebrant Galen McLeod officiating. Burial will follow at Marengo Cemetery.
