Eugene C. Stricker

Eugene C. Stricker, age 82, of Fredericktown passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born on May 12, 1935 in Emlenton, Pennsylvania to the late Carl and Gladys (Klingler) Stricker. Eugene was employed at Byler Sawmill for over 19 years and for the last two years, he worked as a loader operator at Hershberger Sawmill.  He enjoyed where he worked and became very active and part of the Amish community.  He provided them with transportation to just about anywhere.  Eugene was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Fredericktown and was a lifetime member of the NRA.  He also was a veteran serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by three daughters, Debra (Butch) Wells, Linda Thompson, Dawn Stricker; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his brother Robert (Edna) Stricker; his sister Nita Marie Baumgartner; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his wife Greta Stricker; and his son Carl Stricker.

Friends may call on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4-6PM and Saturday from 10-11AM at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A service will be held on Saturday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11AM with Rev. Russ Gumm officiating.  Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
