Esther L. “Eddie” Samples, 95, of 5935 State Route 19 West, Galion, died at 9:55 a.m. Sunday, September 14 at home after a long illness.

Born July 26, 1908 in Luckey, OH, she was the daughter of the late Herman H. and Ida Haase Weber.

She was a member of Miracle Meetings Church, a life member of Medical Alert International Foundation and was a Charter Member of the Republican Party.

She is the founder of both God Squad Jail and Prison Ministry and God Squad Politica which promotes animal protection rights.

She was a farmer most of her life and an upholsterer with Stahl Upholstering and later God Squad Upholstering.

Surviving are her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert H. and Norene J. Stahl, of Phoenix, Ariz., Welby H. and Sara Ann Stahl, of Fairfield Glade, Tenn. and Larry E. Stahl, of Galion, a step son and his spouse, Daniel L. and Beverly Samples, of Galion and five grandchildren, Kipe E. Stahl, Kim A. Stahl, Kerri Ann Stahl, Ted J. Stahl and Jennifer L. Stahl, several great grandchildren, and a sister,
Edith Nims, of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, J. L. “Slim” Samples, whom she married in 1965 died in 1971 and her first husband Enos J. Stahl, whom she married in 1925 died in 1962. A son, five brothers and three sisters are also deceased.

Funeral Services will be held at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 17 with Pastor David Aiken officiating. Friends may call at Richardson-Davis one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.
