Eskalein Selvage, 87, of Sunbury, died Friday, January 30, 2004 at her home.
She was born in Oil Springs, Kentucky on September 16, 1916, the daughter of the late Isaac and Mary Elizabeth Spradlin Baldwin. She moved here from Columbus in 1957. Eskalein dedicated her life to her family. She was a member of the First United Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Reecie Selvage, whom she married January 3, 1938; son Dan (Charlene) Selvage of Centerburg; four daughters E. Phyllis (Jerry) Volz of Detroit, MI, Mary (Richard) Morris of Sunbury, Marty (James) McCurdy of Delaware, and Cathy (Greg) Roy of Sunbury, Ohio; nine grandchildren Rick, Jennifer, Chris, Steve, Tricia, Alex, Matthew, Andy and Chad; and ten great grandchildren.
A son Teddy, 6 brothers, and 1 sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call Monday 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR’s 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Tuesday 11:30 a.m., interment Green Mound Cemetery, Kilbourne.
