Ernest James Veley, 82, of Delaware died Wednesday evening at his residence. He was born June 30, 1925 in Kilbourne, Ohio to Walter Veley and Lena (Sheets) Veley. He was a truck driver for the Delaware Farmers Exchange and was a lifetime Delaware County resident. He enjoyed traveling, walking, dancing, and all kinds of music. He is survived by his dear wife of 37 years, Pauline (Weddell); 3 daughters, Debbie Haas and Dottie (Douglas) Baughman of Delaware and Diane Steiner of North Carolina; 2 sons, Scott Veley of Rocky River and Ronnie Veley of Utah; 3 grandchildren, Sarah Veley, Derek Ballard, and Deidre Milligan; 1 great grandson, Collin Milligan; brother, Raymond (Betty) Veley of Marysville; sister, Joann (Cliff) VanDyke of Millersport; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 22nd from 2 – 5 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware where Celebration of Life services will follow at 5:00 pm.
