Eric T. Imbody

April 15, 1983 ‒ January 12, 2019

Marion, Ohio
Formerly of Caledonia, Ohio

Eric Todd Imbody, age 35, of Marion, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from injuries sustained in a snowmobiling accident.

On April 15, 1983, Eric was born in Marion, Ohio, the son of Dee (Lautenslager) Imbody and the late James Mark Imbody.  He was raised in Caledonia, near his father’s pizza shop, Jimmy’s Pizza, and graduated from River Valley High School in the class of 2002.

Shortly following school, Eric began driving semi-truck for Delmar Distributing, and most recently Comstock Trucking, which became Max Line Express.  His semi-trucks were always decked out and immaculate.

Whenever you couldn’t find Eric, the first place you would look for him would be in his garage.  He spent day and night in that garage, listening to his favorite music, and rebuilding one of his many Chevy S10 pickup trucks.  He didn’t just tinker on S10 trucks though, he worked on everything from trucks to four wheelers to Haro BMX bicycles for he and his son, Tyson, to ride.  He also loved golfing and rooting on his beloved OSU Buckeyes football team.

A thrill seeker, Eric loved anything with a motor.  He loved boating on the waters of Lake Erie on his boat, “E.T.”  He loved going full throttle on his four wheelers, and snow mobiles.  Not surprisingly he also loved an exciting fireworks show.

Eric was a man of few words, whose big “brown puppy dog eyes and warm smile” could melt you.  He was so many things…he could be a sensitive and loving teddy bear and he could be the most stubborn pain in the ass you ever met.  He also “was the best hugger.”

Most important of all to Eric was his family.  He felt blessed to have his loving wife, Brandy (Orcena) Imbody, always looking after him.  They were married on July 26, 2012.  Together they showered their three children with love each and every day.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brandy Imbody; three children: Tyson and Lexi Imbody, and Alexia Davis; mother, Dee Imbody; two siblings: Ashleigh (Matt) Everly and Jim Bob (Krissy) Imbody; nieces and nephews: Jordan, Nate, Carson, Briggs, Zane, Derek, and Ryleigh; brother and sister-in-laws: Tera (Josh) Holderman, and Tony (Alyson) Orcena; special friends: Jenna (Adam) Curling, Ashley Summers, and Jeremy (Jessie) Rowe; many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless more dear friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, James M. Imbody.

His family will greet friends from 2 – 4 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, DENZER Chapel, 360 E. Center St., Marion.  A celebration of his life will follow from 5 – 7 pm at the Steve Young Memorial Lodge FOP #24, 5327 Harding Hwy E (St Rt 309 E), Caledonia, where family and friends will have a time of sharing all of their legendary stories of Eric.  Everyone is welcome to “come as you are” and BYOB to the Lodge.  Burial will be observed privately in Caledonia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help his family.

  • I am heartbroken to hear of Eric’s passing. I know he is going to be missed dearly by my brother Jeremy. I’ll never forget how they would always be in the garage tinkering with their bicycles. They were inseparable, Eric was like another brother to us. My heart aches for his kids, and those he loved. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who love him. Rest In Peace.

  • Dear Brandy, Tyson, Lexie, Alexia and Dee and all family, we are so sorry for your untimely loss. I always enjoyed visiting with Eric in his garage , man cave. He brought happiness to Brandy, and we’ll always be grateful for that. Also, his kids were fun to be around, never knowing what color Tyson’s hair would be. He was doing a sport he enjoyed and had his son with him, so live life to the fullest and watch down on all of us Eric, God bless, love Ray & Mary, Grandpa and Grandma.

  • My first ever glance at Eric was as he rode his bike past our house on his way home from Waldo Grade School. I asked my daughter, Jenna, who he was and she said, “That’s Eric Imbody, he goes to my school.” One day we saw him when driving down another snow covered road so we picked him and his bike up and took him home. That was the first time I actually made his acquaintance. He was so shy, but even then the first thing you noticed were those gorgeous brown eyes, and the cute smile, which his son Tyson has certainly inherited from him. You couldn’t meet Eric without being drawn to the gentle hearted person he was, and always polite. Over the years, we came to know and love Eric. There is a big hole left in the world with his passing. God certainly received an Angel into Heaven this past week.
