Emma C. Welch, a resident of the Ohio Eastern Star Home, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Woodside Village Care Center in Mount Gilead. She was born on November 4, 1922 in Fostoria, Ohio the daughter of Joseph and Methilda (Kirian) Welly. Emma worked for the J.B. Foote Foundry in Fredericktown and was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4027. She enjoyed working in her garden and playing bingo.

Emma is survived by her children, Debra (David) Goossens of Fredericktown and Michael Welch of Oak Harbor, two grandchildren, Jory (Diana) Thompson and Justin (Amanda) Welch, four great grandchildren, Haley Thompson and Jordan Thompson, Schuylar Welch and Jaxson Welch, a sister, Mary Doogs of Fostoria and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Gene” Welch, four sisters, Florence Foltz, Helen Reiter, Rose Reiter and Rita Hemminger, four brothers, Elmer Welly, Eugene Welly, Alfred Welly and Raymond Welly.

Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown. The Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown is honored to serve the family of Emma C. Welch.
