Elvin Robert “Bob” Chaney

Elvin Robert “Bob” Chaney, age 93 of Delaware went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday evening, December 13, 2018 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware.

He was born on January 9, 1925 in Houston, Texas to John Elvin Chaney and Nora Bell (Hummel) Chaney. After graduating from Ostrander High School in 1942, Bob went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II, stationed aboard The USS Cumberland Sound. He then worked for Ranco Manufacturing in Plain City until his retirement.

Bob is survived by his children, Don Chaney, Connie (Nick) Seymour, Mary (George) Reiss, David (Janet) Tillman and Peggy Jackson, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife Billie Jean.

The family wishes to extend our appreciation to all of the staff at Grady Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and concern during Bob’s brief stay there.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center.

In accordance with Bob’s wishes, there will be no public services.

  • My name is Dan Miller. My Mom Mary is still alive here in Delaware. She is 93 too.
    She still lives at home. My Dad Howard Miller was a friend of Bob and Billie. Dad has been gone 22 years.
    Mom and Dad use to like to go to Lake Erie with them. And they liked to get spaghetti dinner. But I only saw Bob a couple of times. God bless him.
