Elsie J. Fisher, age 83 of Columbus, died Saturday morning March 5, 2011 at Crown Pointe Care Center, Columbus.

She was born on November 1, 1927 in Hilliard to the late Herman and Lucy (Smothers) Stauch. Member of the St John’s Lutheran Church, The Ladies Aid Society and Bible Study. A homemaker and an independent contractor for the Columbus Dispatch delivering the bulk newspaper to the carriers.

Family was very important to Elsie and she enjoyed her time spent with her extended family. Elsie enjoyed cooking and was known for her potato salad, Christmas cookies and homemade noodles. Collecting tea pots, baking, puzzles and reading were all pastimes she enjoyed.

Survived by son: Larry (Carolyn) Fisher of Columbus; daughters: Beverly (David Franz) Gasbarro of Worthington, Linda (Allen) Martin of Plain City, Joyce (Dorn) Snyder of London; grandchildren: Renee Odom, Sean Martin, Chad (Jeni) Martin, Amanda (Wil) Christiansen; great grandchildren: Taylor, Savannah, & Shane Odom, Jacob & Abigail Martin; brothers: Ralph (Edna) Stauch of TN., Harold (Jeanette) Stauch of Dublin; sisters: Maybelle Breibach of FL., Marilyn (Art) Feurer of Marysville; in laws: Howard & Genny Fisher, Jim & Carol Sheets, Helen Thomas; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years: Ralph E. Fisher Jr.; brother: Raymond Stauch.

Friends may call Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William Street, Delaware where services will be held Tuesday 1 p.m. and interment will follow in the Africa Cemetery.
