Ellie E. Good, age 82, of Chesterville died Friday, August 8, 2014 at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus. She is now with her Lord and Savior.
She was born March 29, 1932 in French Camp (Stockton) California. She was currently residing in the Village of Chesterville since 1987. She served as Clerk/Treasurer for the Village of Chesterville from 1994 until she passed away. She was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution since 1986, Worthington Ohio Chapter. She served as Vice Regent from 1988 to 1990 and Regent from 1990 to 1992. She was also a member of Pioneer Families of Franklin County, Ohio, Blauvelt Association and Morrow County Historical Society. She was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Woodbury since 1987.
Ellie was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Good on December 1, 1972 at the First Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Las Vegas, Nevada. Her early years were spent training and racing thoroughbred horses throughout the United States. She was the sixth woman licensed trainer in the State of California. Her education was in business and accounting. During the 1960’s she worked at the Nevada Test Site. With her husband, a civil engineer, they owned and operated Grid Engineering in Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1970’s. She also loved fishing in the Ohio Lakes and Rivers. She looked forward to football season of both professional and college games. Fabric art was a hobby that she spent her free time with. Spinning and weaving was a form of relaxation when she could fit it in her busy schedule. She loved this great and beautiful state of Ohio.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Ann (Steve) Schuster of Gower, Missouri; step daughter, Carol (Jerry) Turner of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister-in-law Becky (Marvin) Ely of Troy, Ohio; brother-in-law Roger Good of Littleton, Colorado; four grandchildren: Dee Anne (Steve) Schuster of St. Joseph, Missouri, Daniel Evans of Gower, Missouri, Mindy Morrow of Iowa, and Leslie (Sebastian) Fischer of Germany; daughter-in-law, Mary Morrow of Council Bluffs, Iowa and fourteen great grandchildren.
Ellie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Good; son, Delore James Morrow; great grandson, Alex Morrow; sister-in-law, Janice Good; and her best friend, a little poodle named Peaches.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6808 State Route 314, south of Johnsville, from 1PM to 2PM; Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM with Rev. Patrick Kelly and Pastor John Moffett officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
