Ella L. Hardin, 88, of Mount Gilead died Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Morrow County Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on February 19, 1919 the daughter of the late George C. and Emily Pearl (Corwin) Shade.

A lifelong resident of Mount Gilead Ella was a member of the Mount Gilead High School graduating class of 1938.

On September 20, 1941 Ella married Charles Edward Hardin; A union and friendship that lasted 66 years.

Ella will be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She also took great care of her home and loved to sew; even making her daughter’s clothing when she was a child.

She was a laid back, easy going woman, very seldom getting mad. She also used to enjoy fishing on Lake Erie with her husband.

Ella was a Morrow County Hospital Blue Bell T.W.I.G. and was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.

She will be missed by her husband and their daughter Lucinda (Richard) Jones of Marysville; grandson Michael Jones of Hilliard; and a sister Elizabeth Ritchey of Mount Gilead.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two Brothers George Merle and John Charles Shade and a sister Anne Belle Badurina.

Friends may call on the family on Wednesday December 12, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel, 67 North Main Street, Mount Gilead. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
