Elizabeth S. “Liz” Scherer, age 84, of Galion died Saturday, February 21. 2015 at Altercare of Hilliard.

She was born July 1, 1930 in Crestline. She married Richard P. Scherer on June 9, 1961 and he preceded her on March 28, 2004.

Liz was a graduate of Crestline High School and attended North West Bible Church in Hilliard. She enjoyed camping at Dogwood Valley, playing Alley and Euchre and sitting on the front porch.

She is survived by daughter Jackie (Dallas) Moyer of Plain City; grandchildren Dallas (Jessica) Moyer III of Akron, Jenel (John) Bentley of Rockbridge, Zachary Moyer of New Albany and Ashton (Max) Gill of Hebron and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded by several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7 with Pastor Mark Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
