Elizabeth “Libby” Morrison, 63, of Howard passed away on Tuesday morning, August 8, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with declining health. She was born in Mount Vernon on May 15, 1954 to the late Donald and Cherie (Heighton) Thompson.

Libby worked in food service at Kenyon College. She was a member of the Quarter Horse Union and the Knox County Humane Society.  Libby’s hobbies were her horses, making wreaths and crafts, gardening and baking, but what gave her the most joy in life was spending time with her grandkids.

Libby is survived by her loving husband of over 44 years, Rick Morrison whom she married on June 8, 1973; daughter, Carrie (Heath Perry) Morrison of Howard; son, Donald Morrison of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Daniel Morrison and Jaylen Pruitt; sister, Juanita Addlesperger of Mount Vernon; and brother, Chester Earl Thompson of California.

The family would like to thank the ladies of Hospice of Knox County for the care they provided to Libby.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Knox County or the Knox County Humane Society in Libby’s memory.

  • Sorry to hear the passing of Libby she was a great lady.I have known her since I mowed her Mother’s lawn on Quarry Street.For year’s she would send us a Christmas Card and asked about the twins.She will be missed.
