Elizabeth “Gerry” Mock, age 96 of Delaware, Ohio passed from this life Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Manor Care Nursing Facility in Westerville.

She was born on August 7, 1911 to the late Samuel and Gertrude (Perfect) Tracy. Elizabeth, better known as Gerry, resided most of her life in Delaware County where her parents owned Tracy’s Triangle Inn at the corner of US 23 and Peachblow Road. The Inn became Mock’s Motel in the early 1950’s and Gerry managed the business until the mid 1960’s before selling the motel to move to Hickory Ridge, her beloved dream home.

Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George (Fred) Mock, son Fred Tracy Mock, brother Samuel Tracy, and brother Edward Tracy.

Retirement didn’t last long for Gerry as she went on to work at the Golden Kettle and LK restaurants, the Olentangy School System, Delaware County Mental Health Department and for many years at the Olentangy Indian Caverns. Both Gerry and George were active members of Westerville Promenaders square dance club where they made many long term friendships. Gerry was a member of the Lewis Center Methodist Church, serving in many leadership positions.

Survived by daughter Suellyn “Sue” (Robert) Goelz, daughter-in-law Vicky Mock, Grandchildren: David (Chrissy) Goelz, Mandy (Fred) Voelp, Andrea (John) Schneider, Fred Tracy Mock II, Great-grandchildren: Lauren Goelz, Blake Goelz, Kennedy Voelp, Anthony Schneider, and Joseph “JT” Schneider, nieces, and nephews.

Gerry’s family and friends will remember her lovingly as “a life well lived.”

A service celebrating Gerry’s life will be held Wednesday 3:30 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, with Pastor Becky Piatt officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
