Elizabeth (Chandler) Mintos, age 82 of Delaware, passed away Friday morning at the Willowbrook at Delaware Run Nursing Care Center. She was born Sept. 20, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to George and Doris (Datson) Chandler.
She attended and graduated from Bay Village High School and was a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She went on to become a Home Economics teacher. She was also an active participant for many years in Twig 66 of Children’s’ Hospital, president of the Shiffler Ray of Columbus Cancer Clinic, and a member of the Muirfield Garden Club.
A Delaware resident since 2006, she and her husband moved here after 50 years in the Columbus area. She and her husband, Stephen, who survives, were anticipating celebrating 60 years of marriage. Elizabeth and Stephen had been an item since 2nd grade. She is also survived by a son Stephen (Sharon) of Granville; daughters Patricia (Jerry) Glandorf of Powell and Marilyn (Jim) Turner of Ashville, NC; seven grandchildren Noah and Tara Hanawalt, Anthony, Michael, Alex, and Sam Mintos, and Joey Glandorf. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother George Chandler. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware, where a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7 p.m.
