Elizabeth “Betty” M. Coy, 89, of Delaware, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.

She was born on October 13, 1927, in Columbus, daughter of the late John E. and Mary (King) Dove.  Betty had lived in Delaware for most  of her life.  At the very early age of 5, her family moved to Cornwell, England where they lived for two years, and then moved back to Delaware.  Betty grew up in Delaware and  developed a love of flowers, as well as cooking and sewing.  She married Odas Coy in 1944 and together they raised five children.  Betty had worked at the Owens Illinois Glass Products,  Rockwell Corporation, the former Flxible Corporation and  Kroger’s in the Floral Department in Delaware, all for many years.  She loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Betty was known in Delaware County for making the Little Brown Jug horse blankets and floral creations.  She also enjoyed going to horse shows.  Betty was also known for her bright spirit and her giggle.

Surviving are daughters, Donna M. Travis and Diana M. Ruffing (Fred), both of Delaware and son, Raymond J. (Kathy) Coy of Delaware and daughter, Deborah S. (Mike) Robinson of Lewis Center; grandchildren, James Sines (Heidi), Jack and Brett Crawford (Katelyn), Billy Ruffing (Kristen), R.J. Coy (Jenny), Brian Coy (Laurie), and Mason and Marlo Robinson; great grandchildren, Jimmy and Ashley Sines, Chelsea and Cheyanne Crawford, Lexi , Sarah, Eva, Emery and Thehren Ruffing, and Jacob, Andrew and Emily Coy; one brother, Richard Dove; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents that have preceded her in death was her husband of 60 years, Odas Coy; one son, Richard Coy; one son-in-law, Dick Travis; brother, John Dove, Jr.; and one sister, Mary Kipfinger.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., in the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 12:00 p.m., with the Rev. Marvin Hintz, officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware.
