MANSFIELD: Eleanor “Ellie” Jeffries, 60, of Mansfield passed away Friday, June 21, 2013.

Ellie was born November 2, 1952 in Quincy, Florida. After growing up in Florida, Ellie met her best friend and future husband, David Jeffries. The two were married October 4, 1973. Moving from Florida to Mansfield, together Ellie and David resided here in the area raising their two boys Rob and David.

Ellie was an outdoors kind of lady. She enjoyed hunting deer both with a bow and gun. As a young woman, Ellie won numerous trophies while competing in archery competitions. She was also known for her great tasting cakes, taking orders for weddings, parties and get-togethers.

Ellie was a member Heritage Baptist Church in Galion. A humble servant, she spent countless hours preparing church meals.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Rob and Shelia Jeffries of Butler and David Jeffries of Mansfield; grandchildren Austin and Alton Jeffries, Amber, Alesha, and Ashley Brown, Brittany, Alexsis and Tallon Jeffries; siblings Albert Dykes and Shirley Dykes both of Florida, Clyde Dykes of Mansfield, Thomas Dykes of Shelby, and Billy Dykes of Georgia.

Along with her parents John and Louise Dykes, Ellie was preceded in death by her loving husband David R. Jeffries who passed away January 2, 2010; brothers John Dykes, Jr., and Stanley Dykes

Graveside services will be Monday July 1, 2013 at 10 am in Bunkerhill Cemetery, near Butler.
