BUTLER: Eileen May Bebout, 79, of Butler died on Friday August 8, 2008 in Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon following a short illness.

Eileen was born on February 17, 1929 in Mansfield to Coy and Goldie L. (Hildebrand) Pfeifer and graduated from Butler High School in 1948.

A woman of numerous hobbies and interests, she enjoyed hunting and fishing especially around her cabin in the Allegheny Forest in Pennsylvania. A sports fan, Eileen was always up for a round of golf and belonged to the Lexington Ally Cats (a bowling team she was a part of in her younger years).

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Bellville and belonged to the former Trinity United Methodist Church, now Three Crosses United Methodist Church in Butler.

She is survived by her children William R. Bebout of Butler, Richard J. and Debbie Bebout of Butler, Samuel L. Bebout of Butler, and Larry A. Bebout of Butler; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Pearl and Les McConnohie of Hemet, California; step sister and brother-in-law Linda and Rick McCauley of Vass, North Carolina, brother-in-law Russell McKinney of Mansfield, three sisters –in-law Pat Craner of Butler, Janet Craner of Mansfield, and Mary Craner of Lexington; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John William Bebout on December 12, 2003, stepfather Archie Craner, a sister barb McKinney, and two step brothers Archie and Carl Craner.

Friends may call Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 5-7 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where a memorial service will follow at 7 pm. The Rev. Keith McLaughlin will officiate.

Memorial contributions to the Worthington Township-Butler Rescue Squad may be made at the funeral home.
