Some are born as if they had wings on their shoes.
Others are loaded with a burden too large for human perception.
These burdened persons stumble through each day never pausing to ask “Why?” They never question the lack of wings on their “shoes” or even the condition of their mangled feet. Slowly, they force themselves to push to the end of each moment. Never seeing any decline in the sidewalk, yet always believing it is just ahead. Never feeling evidence of any lifting of the load, bearing tons. Yet, always entirely filled with unshakable knowledge that the lifting exists.
If it brings you comfort to be filled with anger and blame, then wrap yourself tightly within this cocoon of shallow understanding.
Yet know this…
My father had no wings on his shoes.
Now, he has wings on his soul.
Any one of us could have been born without wings on our shoes.
Goodbye, Dad. We will always hold you in our eyes. We Will Always Love You.
