Edwin D. “Ed” Dunn, 85 of Galion passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Born November 14, 1930 in Galion, he was the son of Edwin D. Dunn, Sr. and Dora V. (Amick) Fate. He married Carol (Gary) Dunn on September 9, 1983 and she survives. He was previously married to Geraldine Rose (Schneider) Dunn and she preceded him on August 19, 1982.
Ed served with the United States Marines in Korea and worked as a machinist at Ohio Steel Tube in Shelby. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Frances Council 1234. Ed was a member of Galion VFW 4329 and American Legion Scarbrough Post 243. He enjoyed golf, jig saw puzzles and was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds fan.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children Pamela Dickson of Chillicothe, Terry Buskirk of Mt. Vernon, Marcille (Victor) Crawford of Howard, Thomas (Teresa) Dunn of Dacula, Georgia, Barbara (Mace) McCullough of Galion, Cathy Finnegan of Shelby, Carole (Jeff) Hoffman of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas and John (Michaela) Groh of Germany; son-in-law Rocky Christian of Galion; sister Beverly Sigler of Lorain; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by daughter Dawn Christian, son Edwin Dunn III and sister Carmen Lucas.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 North Liberty St. Galion with Father John Miller as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Galion.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Marines and Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
