Edward M. O’Brien, 63, of Galion passed away May 17, 2016 at Riverside United Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Born October 14, 1952 in Delaware, he was the son of the late Francis and LaBonita “Bonnie” (Snyder) O’Brien.

He served with the United States Navy in Vietnam and was a member of VFW 8054 in Mt. Gilead and American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 in Galion. Ed was a self-employed heating, plumbing and cooling contractor. He enjoyed working and liked to feed the squirrels.

He is survived by Jo Baker of Galion with whom he made his home with; children Sherry (Gerard) Johanning of Mt. Gilead, Karen (Mike) Crist of Waldo and Sarah (Rich) Lichtenberger of Marion; grandchildren Dalton O’Brien, Jenna Crist and Aiden Lichtenberger and sisters Cathy (Steve) Strawser of Sunbury, Debbie Reynolds of Delaware and Stephanie Hartley of Waldo.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 with Pastor Paul Walter officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at Iberia Cemetery.

Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy and Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
