Edna Lucille Freeman

Butler: Edna Lucille Freeman, age 92, formerly of Butler passed away peacefully on Sunday evening June 14, 2009 in Arlington Court Nursing Home, Columbus.
Edna was born on February 22, 1917 in Waldo Township, Marion County to Virgil and Stella (Denman) Smith and graduated from Mansfield Senior High School class of 1934. She was united in marriage to John Raymond Freeman on June 5, 1937. Together they lived in the Richland County area where Edna devoted her time to caring for her family.
Edna was a faithful member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Butler as well as the Eastern Star in Bellville.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law James R. (Evelyn) Freeman of Butler, and Bill A. (Karen) Freeman of Galena, two daughters and a son-in-law Janice Wery of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Jenny (Dr. Martin) Gottesman of Columbus; 10 grandchildren Anita, Kim, Michael, Megan and Michelle Freeman, Shawn (Martha) Wery, Dan (Kimi) Wery, Carolyn Wery, Bethany and Andy Gottesman; three great grandchildren Nicholas, Emily, and Kaili Wery; her sister-in-law Donna Brown of Mansfield.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Freeman who passed away on October 24, 2004; two sisters Arlene V. Rupanovic and Eva Ling.
The Freeman family will receive friends on Wednesday June 17, 2009 from 10a.m.-11a.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral will begin at 11a.m. The Rev. Don Sprague will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions to the Butler Historical Society or the Trinity United Methodist Church may be made at the funeral home.
