Edna (Hughes) Redman

Edna M. (Hughes) Redman, 86, of Delaware passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, December 15, 2018 at Bennington Glen in Marengo.

She was born November 21, 1932 in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Charles Haws and Bonnie Goff and she worked as an inspector for Ranco Manufacturing for many years.

A Delaware resident since 1954, she was a devoted and faithful member of the Highpoint Nazarene Church and the Delaware Eagles #376 Ladies Auxillary. Edna enjoyed tending to her flowers and garden, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her beloved feline companion “Baby”. She also was an avid fan of Elvis Presley music.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sheran (David) Glassburn of Sunbury, Loy Hughes of Delaware, Diana (Larry) Caldwell of Ostrander and Brenda (Tom) Griffith of Powell; 7 grandchildren, Nicholas Glassburn of Delaware, Amy (Mike) McKown of Michigan, Tina (Ryan) Darst of Delaware, J.R. Caldwell of Delaware, Kaitlin Griffith of Powell, Megan (Luke) Seiffert of Mt. Gilead, and Caylee Caldwell of Delaware; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband Roy Hughes, infant son Roy Hughes Jr., infant grandson Kyle Griffith, 5 brothers Bill, Carl, Jess, George, and Hubert Haws and 2 sisters Mildred and Myrtle.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware, where services celebrating Edna’s life will follow at 7:00 pm.

Contributions in Edna’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter.
