Earl W. “Bugs” Clark Jr.

September 03, 1950 ‒ April 20, 2011

Delaware, Ohio

Earl W. “Bugs” Clark Jr., age 60 of Delaware, who was a friend to everyone passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at home.

He was born on September 3, 1950 in Delaware to the late Earl W.“Cy” Clark Sr. and Helen Darlene (Harter) Clark of Delaware. A graduate of Delaware Hayes High School in 1960, he was a member of the track team and served a brief time in the US Army. For over 30 years he worked as a central office installer for GTE and Verizon Telephone Companies. He also assisted with the operation of the Clark’s Gardens.

A major sports fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes, he was a simple man. Always fun loving, he was ornery to the core. With his easy going personality he was most friendly in nature. If you knew him as a friend, he was considered a best friend. He enjoyed gardening and time spent with friends, sharing a favorite beverage.

He treasured time spent with his daughters, listening to MoJo Kings every Wednesday night. Most generous he considered himself “a stud muffin to his imaginary lady friends”. Always with a smile, he was not one for good byes….but rather “Till Then.”

He is survived by his pride and joy, his beloved daughters and family; daughters: Katie (John) Hullibarger of Dublin, Casey Clark of Delaware who considered him “Poppa Smurf”, his mother Darlene, sisters: Carole (Gary) Gray of Delaware, Kathy (Casey) Arnold of Ashley, sisters-in-law: Tish Jenkins and Stella Clark of Delaware, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

In addition to his father in 2004, he was also preceded in death by brothers: Stewart L. “Stew” Clark in 2000, Jeffrey A. Clark Sr. in 2002, and nephew: Jeffrey “Clarky” Clark Jr. in 2009.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware. Services will be held privately for his family on Saturday with Chaplin Jon Powers officiating, burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to his family to assist with final expenses.
