United States Air Force veteran Earl See Beal, 91, of Delaware passed away early Tuesday morning January 29, 2013 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerville.

He was born December 12, 1921 in Valleyhead, West Virginia to Ezra and Bertha (Bloom) Beal.

He served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Air Force and was a sheet metal worker for Correct Manufacturing and later Hughes-Keenan in Delaware. He then was foreman and later retired from F. O. Schoedinger in Columbus. As a member of the AmVets Post #102, VFW #3297, and Eagles #376, all of Delaware, he loved and enjoyed all sports especially baseball. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds. He enjoyed playing cards and especially like beating his nephews in euchre. In his younger years and when able, he was an avid poker player and enjoyed fishing and reading.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Evelyn (Durst); daughters, Patricia Beal of Lewis Center and Pam (Joe) Stephens of Marion; grandchildren, Angela, Shawn, Annette, and Amanda; great grandchildren, Malibu, Alexis, Daniel, and Tony; sister, Virginia DeVore of Delaware; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Peggy Miller, son-in-law Rodney Young, 3 brothers Raymond, Roy, and Robert and a sister Virgie Horn.

The family will receive friends on Sunday February 3rd from 2 – 5 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Monday February 4th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association.
