Earl Edwin Veley, age 77 of Delaware, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at his residence. He was born May 16, 1932 near Kilbourne, Ohio to J. Howard and Leota (Oller) Veley. A lifelong Delaware County resident, he was a Korean War Army veteran. A retired truck driver for T&T Holland Trucking Company, he attended Troy Chapel and was a man who loved to tinker with things to see how they worked and fix them. He enjoyed using his craftsmanship skills doing woodworking projects. He is survived by three sons Alan of Buckeye, AZ, Don (Diane) of Penfield, IL, and Roger of Malta, OH; two sisters Maxine Brokaw and Anna Mae Ashburn, both of Delaware. A special thanks is given to his caregivers Mary Roberts, Sharma Gatton, and Mary Hudson, who enhanced his quality of life. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Maxine, and brothers Albert and Floyd. Friends will be received at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home this afternoon from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, where funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Earl Smith officiating.
