Marie Grob, age 88, who with husband Daniel F. Grob owned and operated Sir Speedy Printing in Hampton, VA from 1974 – 2003, died October 16, 2017 in Hampton, VA. Dan preceded her in death in 2000.

Born in Fredericktown, OH, to Elliott R. and Mystle R. (Clawson) Brown June 25, 1929, Mrs. Grob had lived in Hampton, VA, since Dan was assigned to Langley Air Force Base in 1969.

She was a 1951 graduate of Muskingum College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. After her marriage, she went on to receive her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma.  She enjoyed teaching elementary students in Dayton and Brooklyn, OH, for several years and volunteered in Hampton Local Schools listening to children read.

Marie and Dean traveled extensively during and after retirement from the Air Force. They could hop in their plane and have a weekend trip anywhere.  They especially loved New Orleans and Thanksgiving – the jazz, the food, the entire vibe.

Survivors include a sister, Ruth (Cloise) Jones of Centerburg, OH; a brother, Harold (Mildred) Brown of Fredericktown, OH; nieces and nephews, Barbara (Dan) Humphrey, Jan (Gary) Adzic, Susan (Tim) Birie, Shelia (Steve) Zieg, Sandy Overholt, Steve (Alverta) Brown and Stan Brown; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, along with special friends, Mike and Katy Hanson of Hampton, VA.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Snyder Funeral Home; 33 E. College Street, Fredericktown, OH, 43019 on Saturday, October 28, 2017 11:00 am with an hour of calling from 10 am till the time of service. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery.
