E. James Moxley, age 68, of Appleseed Court, Howard, Ohio passed away on Friday March 18, 2005 at the Inn at HillenVale in Mount Vernon. He was born on July 21, 1936 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Robert and Helen (Bevington) Moxley. Mr. Moxley worked for the Frito Lay Company for nineteen years and the Mount Vernon Police Department for thirteen years. He had served in the United States Navy, Army and National Guard. Mr. Moxley was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4027, American Legion #460 and AMVETS Post #95. He had served as past president of the Apple Valley property owners association and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sarah (Dorsey) Moxley, three daughters, Jo Ellyn (David) Crowthers of Mount Vernon, Lisa (Brian) Messer of Mount Vernon, Susan (Bill) Finlaw of North Bloomfield, Ohio, four grandchildren, Mark (Jess) Crowthers, Brent Crowthers, Jason Park, Miranda Park, a brother, Donald R. (Sally) Moxley of Mount Vernon, a sister, Polly Hartsook of Oregon, numerous nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, Susan (Virgil) Hempfield and Melinda (Charles) Henwood.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two infant sisters.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral home where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM with Rev. Bob Hendrix officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
