Dwight David Etzwiler

September 23, 1957 ‒ April 01, 2020

Bellville, Ohio

BELLVILLE:  Dwight David Etzwiler, 62, of Bellville passed away peacefully following an extended illness.  He was surrounded by his loving family in the home they built.

David was born September 23, 1957 in Mansfield and graduated from Clear Fork High School.

Teen Love turned into a love of a lifetime when David married Barbara Weirich on May 8, 1976.

David was a loyal employee of Stoneridge Inc, formerly Hi-Stat Manufacturing, for 33 years.

Earlier in life he enjoyed bowling, playing volleyball, and taking trips with his family.  Camping allowed David to spend time with those he loved the most, his family.  Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends were annually spent at area campgrounds with his immediate and extended family.  David was born a motorcycle kind of guy.  He loved hitting the open road with his wife.  Later in life he achieved his dream of owning a Harley Davidson.

David appreciated classic rock music and attending concerts.  A few of his favorite bands include Foreigner, ZZ Top, BTO, and the Eagles.

David was a jokester and a fun loving grandpa.  He dearly loved every moment playing with all four of his grandchildren.  Remembered for his big heart and beautiful smile, he was a husband and father who passionately cared for his family.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Etzwiler of Bellville; daughters, Christina (Richard) Spayde of Bellville and Amber (Brad) McQuillen of Mansfield; grandchildren Jazmine Spayde, Zoe McQuillen, William Spayde, and Bailey McQuillen; mother Joetta Goodman; sisters Amy Adkins and Vicky (Doug) Obenour;  and numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by this father Dwight W. Etzwiler and step father Albert Goodman.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 2 pm – 5 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.
