Duane Steven Maxwell

MANSFIELD: Duane Steven Maxwell, age 82, passed away October 3, 2020 in Liberty Nursing Center.

He was born on the Fourth of July 1938 in Shiloh the son of Russell & Mary (Stevens) Maxwell. After high school, he served in the Air National Guard, and later took a job with General Motors. He was also self-employed as a farmer and tended his land near Lexington.

Duane was blessed to marry Judith Anne McConnell on November 17, 1956. Judy passed away February 27, 1994 and his final resting place will be beside her. He found love again with Karen Jeanne (Perry) and they were married December 2, 2001. Karen also preceded him in death on January 17, 2004.

In spare time, he took pleasure in visiting with friends at the Lexington VFW and Deckers depot. But above all, Duane cherished his trip to Alaska.

He is survived by his children and their spouses Mark and Christine Maxwell of Lexington, Steven and Kathy Maxwell of Moore, South Carolina and Laura and Scott Keefer of Dexter, Michigan; grandchildren Niki, Melody, Andrew, Christopher, Alexander, Marilyn, Allison and Adam.

Duane was preceded in death by parents Russell and Mary Maxwell; brothers David Maxwell and Dean Maxwell; sister Leola Briner.

Although no public service will be held in Duane’s memory, his family hopes you will remember him in your own special way. His final resting place will be Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington.
