    The Rose Beyond the Wall

A rose once grew where all could see,
    Sheltered beside a garden wall,
And as the days passed swiftly by,
It spread it’s branches, straight and tall.

One day a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide,
The rose bent gently toward the warmth
and passed beyond to the other side.

Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
Be comforted the rose blooms there
    Its beauty even greater now,
Nurtured by God’s own loving care.

  • Duane was a friend to many people in his career here at Honda and it is my distinct pleasure to have been 1 of those people. Duane and I shared many talks and he was the same guy every time. He wasn’t afraid to tell anyone exactly what he thought and usually did so with some sort of humor. As I grieve for my friend I will also treasure the memories of our 3 am talks or late night texts.

  • Sorry for your loss Duane was a good man I will always have memories of the Myrtle Beach golf trips i got to go on with Duane.

  • I remember Duane always being the funny guy wherever he was. He was always glad to see you wherever you ran into him. As in his obituary, he truly never met a stranger. I bet when he met up with the big guy in the sky, there were a couple jokes said followed with an arm slung around each other, both walking away, laughing as they headed off to get a drink.
