Drexil Johnson, age 76 of Ashley, passed away early Wednesday morning at Wintersong Village Nursing Home. He was born March 27, 1931 in Weeksbury, KY to Curtis and Essie (Childers) Johnson. A 44 year resident of the Ashley community, he was a collector of miniature trains and nutcrackers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired foreman at Marion Power Shovel after 32 years of service. He enjoyed camping, his family, and being everybody’s handyman. He is survived by his wife Virgie (Richardson); 3 daughters Adrienne (Danny) Estep of Ashley, Luwanna (Raymond) Bach of Delaware, and Geneva Blankenship of Oklahoma City, OK; a son Tom (Kathy) Johnson of Joliet, IL; step-daughter Karen Jaynes of Denver, CO; and step-son Jim Miles of Wooster, OH; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Charlotte Hale of Pikeville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lois Campbell, and a brother Thomas. Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 9th from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Bennett Brown Ashley Chapel, 307 E. High St., Ashley, OH where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dwight Cimino officiating. Interment will be in Ashley Union Cemetery.
