He was always willing to listen to “what ailed you” and offer advice. Up until just a couple of years ago we would pass him on our walks around Fredericktown. He was a great contribution to our community, both personally and professionally. He will be missed.

  • Dr Poole was my childhood doctor and a great one too! I broke my arm as a kid and he attended to me with great detail and was able to keep a young kid calm. He did so even when cutting the cast off. I had an xray done a little while ago on my arm and the doctor then gave great review on how well Dr Poole did with my arm as he could not even tell I broke it. I am sorry to hear that he has passed.

  • Doctor Poole was easy to love and respect. He was always kind and treated you like you were he most important person he had to see that day. I hated it when re retired from family practice and we are genuinely sorry to hear of his passing. Our deepest sympathy to all his family.

He was the Dr. that delivered me, gave me my childhood shots, and made house calls when needed, then years later when I came to work at Mvdc he would ask about my parents and other family members whenever he would see me, never forgetting anyone that he had cared for. To Jr, Mary and the rest of the family you are all in my thoughts your Dad was one of the best and will be missed by the whole community.

  • Dr. Poole’s Family, He was a great doctor and a dear friend. Our first child was
only a few months old and needed her first shots, he was filling in for Dr. Lord on
vacation. We did not have a family doctor, so by time for her next shots he was
living in West Moundvale and we went to their house for them. He was our
Doctor for as long as he practiced, delivering our next two children. Oh, I don’t
know how we would of survived without him. My Sincere Sympathy for your loss.

  • So sorry for your loss. Dr. Poole was the first doctor I chose when I moved from KY. He delivered all my 4 children from 3 pregnancies. I asked him once during my 3rd pregnancy if I were having triplets. He replied, “You wouldn’t do that to us.” Well, we had twins instead, without knowing there were two. He continued to be our doctor after moving to Circleville. After he stopped having his practice, I said if I were to get pregnant again, he would have to deliver my baby. He just chuckled and said I would have to come to his home. I knew that would be ok with me. We even got to see him, and wave, as he rode his bike from Columbus to Portsmouth. He was a special person to help someone feel comfortable away from her family, and family doctor, in a new town. He is always the doctor I measure all other doctors by. He even invited me to have lunch with him and his wife, while waiting to see if a lump in my breast was cancerous. Just a special doctor. Thank you for sharing him with my family. May God give you peace, and surround you with His love.

  • To the entire family I offer my condolences. Dr. Poole was such a kind, caring and giving man. I had the privilege of working with him at MVDC and have not known a nicer and more caring Dr. I also wish to express my condolences for my dad: Fred Honneffer who was a close friend to Dr. Poole and was also employed with him at MVDC. I know Fred would be so very upset and would miss him terribly if he were well himself. Cling tight to God…. he is in a better place watching over us all.
