Douglas Sexton, 69, of Caledonia passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at OhioHealth Marion General Hospital.

Born August 30, 1948 in Mansfield he was the son of the late Douglas F. and Viola (Howington) Sexton. He married Sherry A. (Salyers) Sexton on October 11, 1990 and they enjoyed over 27 years together.

He was a graduate of Northmor High School in 1968 and served with the United States Army in Vietnam and later served with the United States Air Force. Douglas worked at Whirlpool in Marion for over 33 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening and repairing computers. Douglas especially loved spending time with kids.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Todd S. (Abby) Carey of Central City, Kentucky, daughter Jennifer (Todd) Kimmel of Beechmont, Kentucky and step-daughter Brenda (Daniel) Campbell of Marion; seven grandchildren; brother Donald Sexton of Iberia and sisters Donna (Leon) Wiese of Woodbridge, Virginia, Diane (Scott) Colbert of East Liverpool, Dolores (Guy) Colflesh of Mt. Gilead and Debra (Jesse) Scroggins of Iberia.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21 with Gary Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.

Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
