Dortha Irvine Motherall, age 100, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Tuesday July 26, 2005 at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon.
She was born on July 24, 1905 in Harrison Township, Knox County, Ohio to Leon Walter Biggs and Verta Sara (Horn) Biggs and was a lifelong resident of Knox County. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Order of Eastern Star, Monroe Grange, Women of the Moose and was active in the Central Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Two stepdaughters, Grace Motherall Hoagland of Windsor, Colorado and Virginia Motherall Barry of Mount Vernon, survive her. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband of 49 years; Karl N. Irvine, her daughter Shirley Irvine Leopold, second husband Townsend Motherall, stepson Henry Motherall, and five sisters, Helen Ayers, Bernice Woods, Marie Evans, Myrtle Nethers and twin Dorma Lannoy.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 AM at Union Grove Cemetery near Gambier with Rev. Stephen Williamson officiating. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
