Dorothy E. “Pat” Heacock, 75, of St. Rt. 61 N, Mt. Gilead, Ohio, died Thursday, November 28, 2002 in Woodside Village.

She was born in Delaware County, Ohio on July 20, 1927, the daughter of the late Lowell M. and Sarah V. Jennings Patterson. She graduated from Mt. Gilead High School in 1945 and received her B.S. in Education from The Ohio State University.

Pat was a substitute teacher in the Galion School system until retiring in 1990. She also had a ceramic shop and taught ceramic lessons for 15 years. She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead where she chaired the community wide church dinners for 7 years. Following her retirement, she enjoyed her granddaughter and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband R. Roger Heacock, whom she married Feb. 28, 1945; a son Dana L. Heacock of Minneapolis, MN; two daughters Marjorie R. Heacock of Norton, OH, and Sherry (Jerry) Happel of Westminster, CO; a granddaughter Janise Tate; great grandchildren Tiffany, Ryan, Kelsey, McKenzie and Torye all of Norton, OH; and a brother Richard Patterson of Bradenton, FL.

Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Rev. Bruce Hartley will conduct funeral services there Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery.
