COLUMBUS: Dorothy M. Wornstaff passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Dublin Methodist Hospital. She was 90.
Dorothy was born January 12, 1923 in Hardin County to parents Wilbert A. and Ethel (Good) Schmidt and was graduated from Kenton High School in 1940.
On October 2, 1965 she married Harley G. Wornstaff, who preceded her in death in 1996.
Dorothy found joy in the little things. She truly enjoyed decorating her home, tending to her garden, and playing cards with family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her son Richard & Joyce Wagner of Kenton; daughter-in-law Bonnie Vermillion of Columbus; grandchildren P.J. Vermillion, Melissa Vermillion, and Tori & Jon Smith; six great-grandchildren; siblings Patricia Schmidt of Portland, OR, Marian & Larry Thiel of Rushsylvania, Joyce & Rich Stevens of Belle Center, and Dean Schmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son Phillip Vermillion; grandson Christopher Harvey; and siblings Peggy Carson, Charles Schmidt, and Catherine Schmidt.
The family has chosen the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home for their arrangements and a graveside service will be held Friday, April 26, 2013 at 1 p.m. in Lexington Cemetery. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will officiate.
Contributions in Dorothy’s memory to the American Cancer Society may be sent to the funeral home.
