She moved to Berlin Township in 1950 with her first husband Earl Strayer. He was instrumental in the planning and development of many of the Ohio State Parks. She enjoyed flowers and the management of the family home and farmstead. Always loving and supportive she will be remembered for her impeccable integrity and respected for her tolerant and endearing qualities.

Dorothy married her second husband of 30 years: William Jones in 1978. Together they raised Piedmontes beef cattle on the same homestead near Alum Creek. During the early 1990’s, they traveled extensively throughout the Northwest, Pacific, and Eastern coasts each summer. Dorothy’s precise and regimented nature complimented William.
