Dorothy Taylor Ishler, age 92, resident of Gahanna since 1977, formerly Columbus and Sunbury, died Sunday evening July 13, 2008 at her residence.
She was born on September 12, 1915, in Somerset, KY. to the late John Brad and Ollie May (Randolph) Sweet. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gahanna Church of Christ and former member of the Sunbury Church of Christ.
Dorothy was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandma and great-great grandma to her family. A good listener who was very pleasant and good hearted to all who knew her. She enjoyed sewing and going to her great grandchildren’s activities.
She is survived by her sons: John Ralph (Barbara Jean) Ishler of Galena, Lonnie Ishler of Columbus; daughter: Dianna Ray of Columbus; daughter-in-law: Barbara Ishler (Lloyd) Fiecoat of Galena; 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister: Alice MacBlane of Galena.
Preceded by her husband: Clarence R. Ishler in March 1969; son: C. Raymond Ishler on February 2, 1991; brother: Alonzo Sweet; sisters: Elsie Stevens, Pauline Johnson, Elford Alexander.
Friends may call Thursday afternoon from 12-2 at the Gahanna Church of Christ, 4410 Johnstown Road, Gahanna and Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where services will be held Friday 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Rohrbacher officiating. Interment will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
