Dorothy Ellen Gross, age 90, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in East Fultonham, Ohio, on January 7, 1928 to the late Grant and Mary (Bruce) Rucker.

Dorothy worked and retired from Big Bear as the first women Butcher. She was a member of the VFW Post 4027, AmVets post 95, Moose Chapter 100.  Dorothy enjoyed going to Las Vegas and other casinos, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.  Most of all she loved her grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Darlene Wilson; grandchildren, Annette (Rod Talbott) Goeppinger, Jim (Stefanie) Meyer; former son-in-law, Phil Meyer; great-grandchildren, Justin (Rachel) Goeppinger, Cierra Goeppinger, Logan Meyer, Peyton Meyer, Zoe Meyer; brothers, Randy (Kathy) Rucker, Terry Rucker; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her special friend, Dolores Waddell; a brother, Raymond Rucker; a sister, Georgetta Orndorff, a great-granddaughter, Hannah Meyer.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home; 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050 with Mr. Roger Marra officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
