Dorothy Ellen Graves, 87, of Delaware, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at home surrounded by family. She was born December 13, 1933, in Columbus to the late Malvern B. and Ethel M. (Tucker) Lewis. She married William W. Graves, Sr., and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include five children, Sarah “Sally” Colvin, Wilma (James) Hathaway, William (Evelyn) Graves Jr, Chris (Judith) Graves, Glenn (Shelly Dandrea) Graves; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Ernie; one sister, Linda; and many other family members and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol; one brother, Mike; and three sisters, Anna, Irene, and Bessie.

Outside of taking care of the children, Dorothy was known among many as quite the artist. She loved to paint ornate china and porcelain dolls. She loved to teach others the art of painting china. She also enjoyed cake decorating and working with different materials in making jewelry. She was a devout Christian. She was a member and Elder of the New Hope Community Fellowship. Dorothy expanded on her faith by leading bible studies at church.

A service to honor Dorothy’s life will begin at 12:00pm on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr, Delaware OH 43015. Visitation is Friday 10-12pm at the funeral home. Burial to occur in Green Hill Cemetery in Johnstown. The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center is honored to serve the Graves family.
