Dorothy E. Dotson, 81, of 416 Wooster Road, Mt. Vernon, formerly of 318 S. Columbus Street, Galion, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
Born August 15, 1923 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late George Hadsell and Retha Windbigler Hadsell. She was preceded in death on April 8, 1979 by her husband, John Howard Dotson whom she married on October 1, 1946.
She attended Galion High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ and her many pets. She has been a member of Galion Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1948.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Cassandra “Cassie” and Phillip M. Wilson of Worthington, one granddaughter, Yolanda Coyl and her husband, George of Mt. Vernon; two great granddaughters, Kera J. Dougherty and her husband, Matthew and Michelle L. Brown; two great-great grandsons; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Albert Holderness, of Garner, N.C. and Mary and Calvin Smith of Galion and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2005 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, with Pastor Jim Howard officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion, next to her husband.
