Dorothea D. Moore, age 90 of Naples, Florida and formerly of Marengo passed away Thursday morning, July 30, 2015 following a 6 month illness.

Born on August 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Stevens) Bell. She married Thomas Moore in 1946 and together they made a home and raised their family. They moved to the Marengo area in 1950, sadly he passed away in 1994 after sharing 48 wonderful years.

First and foremost a dedicated wife and mother, she operated the former Dinner Bell Restaurant in Marengo during the 1960’s. She was a former member of the Alum Creek Friends Church and the Capital City Sam’s Camping Club. Fiercely strong willed, she was a wonderful lady who will be remembered for her children of whom she was most proud.

She is survived by her sons John D. of Naples, FL, Randal R. (fiancée Judy Graham) of Riverview, FL, 7 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, son-in-law Larry Jenkins, and sister Betty Howes.

In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by sons Phillip in 1967, Charles in 1992, daughter Katherine Jenkins in 2005, one brother, and two sisters.

Friends may call from 6-8 pm Monday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 73 Walnut St. (SR 229) Marengo, Ohio, where services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery near Sparta.
