Doris Zink, age 98, of Mount Vernon passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Country Club Retirement Campus.

She was born on April 23, 1918 in Mount Liberty, Ohio to the late Morgan and Madge (Cramer) Magill. Doris was employed at Zink’s Market for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Doris was a die-hard Cincinnati Reds fan. She enjoyed bowling and going on road trips. But most of all, Doris loved her feline companions Cody and Bandit.

She is survived by two nephews, James (Betty) Zink of Gambier, Jeff Zink of Texas; four nieces, Myra Miller of Coshocton, Ellen (Dan) Chadwick of Mount Vernon, Lynn Burford of Mansfield and Denise Zink of Texas; three first cousins, Anne Hull, Tom (Bev) Cramer of Fredericktown and Barbara (Bill) Burger of Mount Vernon.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Robert Zink.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Union Grove Cemetery in Gambier beginning at 1:00 PM with Rev. Marvin Haught officiating.
