Doris Mildred James

Doris M. James, 89, of County Road 172, Mt. Gilead died Thursday afternoon, September 28,2000 at Morrow Manor Nursing Center, Chesterville following an extended illness.
She was a lifelong Morrow County resident, where she was born on October 16, 1910, the daughter of the late George and Edna Brown Wright. She graduated from Johnsville High School. She was a homemaker who loved to cook. She was a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Robert & Beverly Smith of Galion, OH, and W. Dale & Phyllis Smith of Fredericktown, OH; two daughters and son-in-law Ann & William Foss of Mansfield, OH, Maxine Heston of Lexington, OH; a step-son and daughter-in-law Roy E. & Charlene James of Mt. Gilead, OH, two step-daughters and sons-in-law Helen & Grover Bird of Mt. Gilead, OH, Martha & Harry Aberts of Mansfield, OH; 19 grandchildren; 31 great and 3 great great grandchildren.
Her husband Carl R. James, whom she married May 17, 1941, preceded her in death on March 22, 1996. She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson James M. Heston, son-in-law Jack Heston and brothers Harold and Clayton Wright.
Friends may call at the Craven & Snyder Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Monday at 11 a.m. by her pastor, the Rev. Brent Miller. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Williamsport United Methodist Church.
