Doris M. McAnall, 93, of Park Avenue, Mt. Gilead, Ohio died Friday, December 06, 2002 in Woodside Village.

She was born in Sparta, Ohio on April 24, 1909, the daughter of the late Homer and Vay Campbell Wells. She graduated from Lancaster High School. She worked for Ohio Bell in Lancaster, J & H Shoe Store and Erfurts Jewelry both in Galion until retiring. She moved here from Galion in 1991. Doris is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead and a former member of the Galion Gal-Lions Club.

She is survived by a brother Kinsell (Edna) Wells of Baltimore, OH; a sister-in-law Nora Wells; a special friend Bernice Southard; nieces and nephews.

Her husband John W. McAnall, whom she married Jan. 12, 1936, preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1979. Brothers Roy (Lucille), Wilbur (Audrey), Homer “Doc” and Maurice “Andy” (Bernice) Wells, and sisters Belva (Walter) Leasure, Mabel Wells (Raymond) Burns and Bessie (Lawrence) Taber and sister-in-law Lucille Wells also preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Rev. Bruce Hartley will conduct funeral services there Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery in Mt. Gilead. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
