Doris J. Lamb

Doris J. Lamb, 87, of Galion, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at Galion Community Hospital, after an extended illness.
Born Jan. 14, 1921 in Shelby, she was the daughter of the late John Latterner and Hazel Hafer Latterner. She was preceded in death on Feb. 20, 2001 by her husband, Charles H. “Bus” Lamb whom she married on June 8, 1956. She was previously married to George Mills in 1939 and he preceded her on Dec. 5, 1952.
She was a graduate of Shelby High School in 1938 and she worked as a secretary at AMF in Shelby for many years. She was a homemaker all her life. She liked her camping trips to Lake Erie and going to Florida and hunting for sea shells from which she made many things and she also enjoyed making crafts.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Charles Miller of Galion, Cathy and Jim Wilson of Missouri City, Texas and Pat and Ira “Willie” Wilson of Galion; one son, John Mills of Galion; one step daughter-in-law, Marge Lamb of Eustis, Fla.; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dickie Mills, one step son, Charles William “Bill” Lamb, two grandchildren, Michael and Jeffrey Lamb and one brother, Mearl Latterner.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 with Dan Everly officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
