Donna Timmons

January 28, 1946 ‒ January 23, 2019

Mansfield, Ohio

MANSFIELD: Donna Jean Timmons, age 72, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from Mansfield Memorial Homes following a courageous battle against cancer.

She was born January 28, 1946 to parents James L. & Mary Jane (Johnson) Glass in Marion, Indiana. Donna was graduated from Jefferson Twp. High School with the class of 1964 where she was active with their drama program and made many lifelong friends.

Donna worked at Essex for 20 years and then Hi-Stat for 20+ years before retiring. She was a member of the Lexington Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed activities at the Lexington Senior Citizens Center.

Donna loved playing Euchre and other card games with her friends. She was an avid reader—especially Amish stories—and loved watching tennis matches on TV. But above all, Donna cherished her family and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids (unless tennis was on). She will be remembered for her selfless and unconditional love.

She is survived by children Teresa (Mark) Maffett of North Woodbury, Jamie Timmons of Jeromesville, and Tonya (Ty) Shellenbarger of Spencerville; grandchildren Dylan, T.J., Ebony, and Dalton; and a sister Sherrie Glass of Gaston, IN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Toni McCord.

Friends may call 3-6 pm Monday, January 28, 2019 at Lexington Grace Brethren Church (215 W Main St, Lexington, OH 44904) where a memorial service honoring Donna’s life will begin at 6pm and Pastor Nathaniel Foote will officiate. For contributions in her memory, please make checks payable to the American Cancer Society and bring or send to the funeral home: P.O. Box 3085, Mansfield, Ohio 44904.

  • Teresa, Jamie and Tonya and families: My heart is breaking from hearing this news! She was such a Dear Good Friend, who I have missed dearly all these years since we moved to AL. I have such treasured memories of her. We laughed on our way to work about the silliest things, we talked to each other about you kids and my kids. My family got to know her, from us keeping the dog when she wanted to go away. They thought she was a special lady. And at the time, we had to discuss our shows we watched, especially ER! Lol, she loved that back then! You kids and the grandkids were her world and life! She loved you all, so very much and was proud of you. She was one of the strongest, nicest people I know, and I have been honored to call her my friend! Hugs to all of you!

  • To a courageous lady who will be missed greatly by all!

May you find comfort in her faith and know that she is now at rest.
