Donald W. Noblit

BUTLER: Donald W. Noblit, 97, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from Pulmonary Fibrosis at the home of his daughter near Butler, Ohio.
Donald was born October 21, 1921 in Bucyrus to Elmer and Myrtle Noblit. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1940. He married Nina Ulmer, who survives, on February 23, 1947. At that time, he moved to his farm near Galion, Ohio. His registered Holstein herd became known all over Ohio for high production, quality type, and topping Holstein sales. He was a volunteer fireman for New Winchester Fire Department. As a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Bucyrus, he served as trustee, Sunday School teacher, junior youth leader, and worship support chairman. The couple moved to Marysville, Ohio in 1980 where he also had Holsteins and farmed. After selling his dairy cattle, he had a herd of Angus cattle. He was good at improvising wooden items to use on the farm and later made wooden furniture for family. They attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Marysville.
While living near New Winchester, Ohio, Donald and Nina were foster parents for a number of children.
In addition to his wife, Nina, he is survived by his sister Eunice Mauler of Bucyrus; daughters Linda (Robert) Hunter of Plain City, Nancy (Dr. Robert) Snyder of Butler; granddaughters Cara (Stuart) Seibel of Ontario and Heather (Greg) Hone of Zanesfield; grandsons Joshua (Andrea) Shuck of Overton, TX, Benjamin (Rui) Snyder of Houston, TX, Andrew Snyder of Cincinnati; great grandchildren include Shonda Lane, Jessica Bergum, Caitlyn (Matthew) Tackett, Kenna Hone, Madelyn and Maja Seibel, Shianna Snyder and Jacob Retterer; great great grandchildren include Kristopher, Kaylynn and Kameron Garver, Maci Tackett, Rebecca and Alissa Lane.
Donald was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth, Richard and Cleo Noblit; granddaughters Michelle Retterer and Staci Shuck; son-in-law Ken Shuck and brother-in-law John Mauler. There will be no public services. Private services will take place at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus, at a later date.
