Donald S. Uhrig, age 78, of Martinsburg, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on January 30, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Lawrence and Myrtle (Scott) Uhrig. Donald served in the United States Navy and retired in 2003 from Pepsi-Cola Bottlers of Columbus. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Jeff Gordon.

Donald is survived by his children; Brian (Mikki Burns) Uhrig of Columbus, Steve Willet of Mount Gilead, Scott (Becky Blankenship) Willet of Martinsburg, Shawn Willet of Martinsburg, Tammy Willet of Martinsburg and Angie (Jerry) Reichelderfer of Dayton; fourteen grandchildren; a great grandson and a brother, Paul (Lou) Uhrig of Columbus.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria (Perry) Uhrig and a sister, Mary Jane Wilson.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a military service provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will begin at 3 p.m. The family will observe a private a burial.
